About ACMC
In the book titled 《星學大成》 “A Grand Collection of Astrology” published during the Ming Dynasty 明朝 , the author 萬民英 WAN Min-Ying marked in the preface with the following:
《易》以道陰陽，是卜筮之書也。聖人作之，以教人趨吉避凶，而一言以蔽之曰：「天下之動，貞夫一者也。」若曰吉者吾趨之，非趨夫吉，趨夫所以獲吉之理，「視履考祥」之類是也；凶者吾避之，非避夫凶，避夫所以致凶之故，「復即命，渝安貞」之類是也。由是則吉而非求也，由是則凶而有所不避也。
Literally it means,
“Yi” is about Yin and Yang and is considered as the book of divination. The Sage put it in writing so as to teach us to move towards auspiciousness and to avoid danger. In simple terms (as in 《繫辭》 “Xi-Ci”),
“Our moves have to be in line with the law of nature.”
When we talk about moving towards auspiciousness, we are in fact not talking about the auspiciousness itself but the principles of moving us towards auspiciousness such as “Watching over our every step to ensure we are not making mistake” (as 《履•上九》).
When we talk about avoiding danger, we are in fact not talking about the danger itself but the reason of getting ourselves into danger such as “We could be auspicious if we correct our mistake” (as in 《訟•九四》).
As such, we would not be desperately looking for auspiciousness and avoiding danger.
ACMC holds this as the core value of being a better self. Chinese Metaphysics such as 風水 Feng-Shui, 八字 Ba-zi, 文王卦 Wen-Wang Gua, 奇門遁甲 Ji Men Dun-Jia, 六壬 Liu-Ren and even 七政四餘 Chinese Astrology, will only help us to discover what lies ahead of us such that we can prepare our minds. Auspiciousness however comes as a result of knowing ourselves and to behave accordingly.
